Overview of LN9901/LN9902 Series
The LN9901/LN9902 series of X-capacitor auto-discharge ICs are available in SOP8/MSOP8 package types with a double-sided distributed pin layout to cover an extremely wide range of 0.1~6uF X-capacitor conditions, which can be used for power supplies and electrical appliances covering a wide range of output powers, providing flexible and convenient application design and safe use in applications that meet 6kV lightning test conditions. The LN9901/LN9902 capacitors are designed to withstand severe input surges and voltage dips within the withstand voltage range.
The LN9901/LN9902 series X-capacitor auto-discharge ICs are intelligent, high-voltage active discharge switches that, when connected in series with an X-capacitor safety discharge resistor, can nearly completely block the current to the discharge resistor, thus reducing the power loss in the discharge circuit to zeroNote 1. When the AC voltage is disconnected, the ICs can automatically perform a safe discharge of the X capacitor, so that the X-capacitor residual voltage falls below the safe voltage within a specified time, thus preventing the user from having to use the ICs in applications with severe input surges and voltage surges within the withstand voltage range. The residual voltage of the X capacitor drops below the safe voltage within a specified period of time, thus preventing the user from enduring the risk of electric shock and enabling the system to meet the safety requirements.
LN9901/LN9902 series of X-capacitor auto-discharge ICs have TUV/CB certificates and meet the requirements of IEC62368-1.
