Program Overview
GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology developed in-house. PowiGaN switches replace conventional silicon transistors on the primary side in PI's highly integrated offline flyback switching ICs, reducing switching losses and enabling smaller, lighter, and more efficient chargers, adapters, and open power supplies than silicon devices. PowiGaN-based ICs achieve efficiencies of up to 95% over the full load range, and up to 100W output power in enclosed adapters without heat sinks.
